My First Time: A Benefit Performance for Ashleigh’s Patience Project

Hope Rising is delighted to support Ashleigh’s Patience Project with two benefit performances of “My First Time” on October 13 and October 27, 2018. My First Time is a play in the style of The Vagina Monologues. The play feature four actors (Polly Harrison, Robin Coulonge, Phillip Slay and Jon Beller) in hysterical and heartbreaking stories about first sexual experiences written by real people. Directed by Pamela Harden, My First Time promises to have you laughing and reminiscing about your own First Time.

ABOUT MY FIRST TIME

In 1998, a decade before blogging began, a website was created that allowed people to anonymously share their own true stories about their First Times. The website became an instant phenomenon as over 40,000 stories poured in from around the globe that were silly, sweet, absurd, funny, heterosexual, homosexual, awkward, shy, sexy and everything in between. And now, these true stories and all of the unique characters in them are brought to life in this acclaimed 90 minute play, presented by Ken Davenport, producer of Altar Boyz and creator of The Awesome 80s Prom.

Critics from the NY Post, Newsday, and Toronto Globe & Mail have declared:

“New York’s Best New Play!”

“Screamingly Funny!”

“Provocative, amusing and moving!”

“80 minutes of titillation – the theatrical equivalent of a date-movie!”

“Evening of first-time tales that is by turns comical, erotic, sentimental, galling,  heart-rendering, and even mildly political.”
